Pulled my nail off, will it grow back normally?!

Question: Pulled my nail off, will it grow back normally?
Ok, so 3 months ago I slammed my thumb in a door, it got black and dried up. It later started to protrude, my nail got bigger because of the blood inside. So today I realized that my nail started to "wiggle", I strarted to observe the nail and it seemed as if I could pull it off, so I did. Now there's no nail. BUT... Now I looks like the "skin" on my thumb where the nail should be has a "little hill" (sounds stupid, i know) on it, I guess you can call it a bump. The area where the nail should be is somewhat hard, but it's obvious there's no nail. Will my nail grow back? What should I do to make sure it grows back normally? Hopefully I didn't damage anything. Btw it didn't hurt when I pulled it off, if that helps anything.

Answers:

ya don't worry at all. i did the same thing at school a few years ago with my thumb and half of my nail came off. it's completely back to normal now, and it shouldn't last long since fingernails grow faster than toenails. you just have to make sure that the nail won't become ingrown.

me!
