Relaxation exercises really help. I use to have insomnia but started listening to relaxation tapes as I was trying to fall asleep. If you have an iPhone or iPod, you can search for apps. If you don't have one, you could buy some relaxation or meditation cds instead. Make sure the speaker has a really soothing voice. I downloaded one that was awful, redneck voice - sounded like Cletus from the Simpson's! An alternative to that is 'white noise' like the sound of rain, crashing waves, tv static, etc.

It will take some practice, give it some time.

Now I put it on as I'm trying to sleep and I fall asleep within minutes! It's such a relief.

Slow deep breathing is great.

Make sure you are comfortable too. Clean bed linen, comfy mattress and pillow, good temperature.

Also, avoid stimulating things like tv, computer, video games etc.

Former insomniac!

You didn't mention if you have racing thoughts or just can't stop thinking. A lot of intelligent people have this problem for some reason. You need to talk to your doctor about it.My mother and brother have this problem too.You are very young to have this problem, I'm sorry it must be very disruptive.talk to your doc about it.

It sounds like you have "Insomnia". It is a sleep disorder varying from all ages. It can be mild/severe, or temporary/constant. It would be wise to consult with a physician to find treatment or medication. Sleep well (:

Pray to God before goin to bed by thanking him for 1day and asking him for you to have a goodnight sleep. i hope it will work for uuu

Some light exercise at bedtime often helps you to relax, unwind and switch off and that often improves your sleep.
