My finger is bleeding !!!??? Help?!

Decades ago I remember the advice being to 'let it bleed'.

A small cut, when bleeding, is forcing a possible infection out of the body.

If it is small, you are probably all right to let it bleed cleanly. Maybe. Only a doctor can offer medical advice.

When you cover a wound of any kind, be certain that you allow the wound to have contact with the air. Failure to do so may lead to a condition called lockjaw. This is not good. (That is why bandaids have those little holes above the cloth: Air!)

You must have cut your finger on something--cuts don't just develop by themselves. Gauze tape and a Bandaid sound fine. If you're bleeding very freely, you might want to wonder about her hemoglobin count. Nevertheless, your finger should heal up fine in a few more days.
