What's a pre-op physical like?!

Question: What's a pre-op physical like?
I'm 16. I have a pre-op physical Monday. I'm having reconstructive foot surgery next Friday (the 11th). What are they going to do at the pre-op? What health problems would they postpone surgery for? Is there anything I should do to prepare for it? Thanks in advance!

Answers:

i have had two foot and ankle surgerys and both times they were so easy. they listen to your heart lungs and stomach. they check throat ear nose. and thats about it. they will take your blood pressure pulse and temperature. one time they drew blood the other time they did not. no preparation. the only thing that would stop surgery is a high fever or infection. if your heart rate is off or if you have a lung infection or if blood work comes back bad.

a blood draw. urinalysis. chest x ray. maybe a blood pressure check. if you have no major health issues, they will not postpone surgery. you,ll fast for 12 or 24 hours before surgery. check with your doc. it changes every so often.
