Is it wrong to blame someone for not being able to sleep at night?!

Question: Is it wrong to blame someone for not being able to sleep at night?
My boyfriend tells me he has trouble sleeping at night. But the thing is that I have known him to stay up late and play video games until 4 in the morning, and I've known him to abuse percoset, and even though he doesn't do that anymore, I just have the hardest time feeling any remorse for him when he tells me that he only got 2 hours of sleep. I feel like a part of him has to WANT to stay up for that to happen.

Plus, last night he said he was going to come eat dinner with my family last night and he blew it off and said he was too tired because he got an hour of sleep the night before.

So do i have a right to be annoyed by his lack of sleep? I've had trouble sleeping before and I just have to figure out what works for me. I have to listen to music to fall asleep when that happens.. But I know he doesn't even try anything like that or to find anything that works for him... Or is this just horribly ignorant?

I agree with Bob Link, you shouldn't feel bad at all especially since he isn't doing any favours for himself. Sleep depravation isn't fun especially when you've got a long day ahead but he doesn't seem bothered by it and doesn't help himself get more sleep when there are loads that could help. In fact it sounds like he is using it as an excuse so i wouldn't feel at all bad being annoyed at that!

Sounds like an immature guy to me, he should be responsible for his own actions.

Tell him to believe an Old Parable. "Too much of anythingg is not good for you." Where it came from I don't know but too much video game playing key up something in the brain that keeps you awake. It's like going to Vegas. Lights, action, camera and you don't want to sleep. Too much excitement. THAT'S the word. Excitement. He's got to drop his Excitement Level. That's up to him. Sooner or later his body will let him know. How, when, where I don't know but Why, could be the video game playing.
