how to register for a doctor?!


Question: How to register for a doctor?
my aunt is a foreigner she has come to the UK recently, and needs a doctor. what is the procedure for this? does she documents in her name e.g. bills

what does she have to do in order to register for a doctor

she is not yet have a british citizenship as she has not stayed for 2 years yet

She is not illegal or seeking free health care

she just needs a doctor as she is pregnant, the child's father is a British citizen

Answers:

Everyone is entitled to free health care in the UK even if she doesn't have british Citizenship.
She should go into her nearest doctors surgery and ask to register with them, they might want to see some ID or proof of address. Some surgeries don't need this. If she signs up with the same doctor as her babies father and he goes with her it will be easier.
If you are still having problems, go onto the NHS direct website, find your nearest NHS walk in centre and they there can advise you on how to register with a Doctor,

She just goes in to any local practice and explains her position, it is up to them whether they are happy to agree to provide her with care.
