Is my pinky toe broken?!

Question: Is my pinky toe broken?
This morning I got out of bed and hit my pinky toe on the edge of my bed harder than I ever remember stubbing a toe. It started bleeding under the nail almost all the way to the edge and has throbbed all day. I can move it some, but it still hurts. I wrapped it with its neighboring toe and have tried to be careful with it all day. How can I tell if it's broken? Also, will the toe nail fall off? I haven't unwrapped it yet either, so I don't know how bad it looks. Thanks.

They don't fix broken toes, assume it's broken. I would take a look plus you need too dry it out depending on what you wrapped it with. A lot of people disagree with this but... if there is blood under the nail it can't expand to much. Get a paper clip, straighten it out, heat up with a lighter and plunge the tip into the nail to let the blood out that is building up under the nail to relieve the pain and pressure. After writing this I realized you said this morning, it may be to late... next time ok?
edit ..Karen, if they X ray it he will get a bill for it. Don't overkill for a broken toe, it's tying up X Ray techs, the people who read them and everyone else that he deals with it . People can walk with all there toes missing, the not being able to walk without your big toe is a myth.

idk.. but it would really help to get it checked.. if its swollen put some ice on it.. just be really careful.. hope u feel better <3
