Last night I felt numbness in both hands?!

Question: Last night I felt numbness in both hands?
I'm a little bit concerned about it. It seemed like it happened on four different occasions last night--twice in both hands. I was asleep on my back the whole time so it's not a case of me laying on my hand(s) or anything like that. This has happened in the past where I wake up and have one hand feeling numb or the other but it's not an every night occurence by any means. I would estimate this happens maybe once every three weeks or so but the fact that it happened four times last night is the concerning part. I do get heart palpitations from too much sugar or caffeine so I'm wondering if the numbness in my hands last night is connected to that or if this is something completely different. I also woke up with shortness of breath too last night but that subsided after I sat up for a few minutes. Finally, there is one last symptom I feel the need to mention and that's the fact that I sometimes feel drained and fatigue at random times just to stand up or even walk around the house. This can occur as often as twice a week but other weeks I'm just fine.

Thank you for any insights or advice.

Answers:

numbness in your hands could result from heart palpitations and irregular rhythms delivering insufficient amounts of oxygen to your fingers. it could als be due to the position you were sleeping in causing the intervetebral discs in your neck to bulge and press on some of your nerves. C5-C7 control sensation in your hands and if you were pressing on those nerves that would explain it.
