Question: Does it hurt having stitches out in your forehead?
I had a clash of heads while playing football on Sunday and had to have 8 stitches put in my forehead just above my eyebrow. The cut was quite deep and its still painful now, my eyebrow was literally hanging over my eye lol! I've got to have the stitches out tomorrow, will it hurt? Also my head still feels numb from the anaesthetic its been four days since it happened should my head still be numb?
Answers:
No it doesn't hurt much at all. The numbness is due to minor nerve damage around the wound and is quite normal. With luck the nurse will sit on your lap whilst extracting the stitches to distract you.
It shouldn't hurt getting them out at all, You'll feel the sensation but won't cause any pain! You should tell the Nurse or Doctor that you haven't regained feeling in your head, just in case there is a problem!
