Stubbed big toe, is it serious?!

Question:

Stubbed big toe, is it serious?

I stubbed my big toe 5 days ago and it doesn't hurt much anymore but I have some concerns: I only have about half of my normal range of motion and it definately hurts if I try to force it farther. Also, there is a weird knot on top of the joint that feels as hard as bone under the skin, but it is not painful when I press on it. It was very painful when I stubbed it and I couldn't walk on it for a few days. No swelling, no bruising, but something definately doesn't feel right. I'd appreciate responses from those who have had similar experiences, or from medical professionals. Thanks for your help!

Answers:

its probably just calcium build up from when you stubbed it, i had the same thing happen when i fell on my elbow. if it doesnt have a full range of motion, tape it to the next toe for about a week, its probably just sprained.
