How soon can I drive after an abortion?!

Question:

How soon can I drive after an abortion?

I'm sure that all this will be explained to me in detail when I go on that day. But since the date is several weeks away I am trying to plan how, if at all, I will be able to drive over to a friends house and help take care of her after her plastic surgery. I know I might be in pain for a day or so but maybe I will be well enough to help out someone who will be barely able to sit up in bed?

Answers:

Your doctor will tell you not to drive that day. Simply because they do give you drugs to sedate you and make you relax. They don't want you passing out at the wheel. Another reason is because you don't know what state of mind you'll be in after the procedure. The day you have it, PLEASE be sure to follow your doctors orders to the letter! Go home, rest and keep your feet up. More than likely you'll be able to resume you normal daily activities the following day. Some bleeding may occur, but that's normal, unless you're hemorrhaging and / or have a fever. Speaking from experience, I myself am pro-choice. But have you considered all your options? Theres not a day that goes by that I don't wonder about the baby I never had. Good luck & best wishes
