How does one treat a fracture weeks after the fact?!

Question: How does one treat a fracture weeks after the fact?
My daughter had a sledding accident in January and was Xrayed then. Nothing showed up. I've kept in contact with her doctors since then and today I took her for a follow up Xray. It turns out the arm was fractured, but didn't show up until it started healing a little, which they said is common.

The poor kid will have an appoint with ortho, but what can I expect? How urgently should she be seen? She can use her arm, but pulling, twisting and hanging from her arm are painful.

Answers:

Its actually not a good thing to cast a kid too early.

The new bone growth would not have started and because the joint would have been restrained
growth might not have happened in that area.

If they did not see a fracture at the time it must have been slight and will probably only need a cast for 4 weeks now.

Had it been serious and misplaced it might have required a new break.
