Spider bite?

I recently was bit by a spider on the back of my leg(directly behind my knee cap). Last night I was awaken by a gruely pain. My right leg is severly swollen and red. I also have a great deal of muscle apathy around the bite itself. I have got bitten in the past, but nothing this bad. I am in the probation period of a new job therefore I have no insurance until 90 days is up. I know when I went to the emergency room before the resident doctor looked at me for less then 30 seconds and prescribed my steriods and hydrocortizone cream for the itch. Although this does not itch, it hurts. Does anyone have any good advice for over the counter medicines or what I should do? Any comments would be greatly appreciated. I could hardly walk to work today.

You could have gotten a staph infection from the bite. You need a dr immediately! Don't wait. We have a worker in the hospital today for exactly that.
