Cocussion?!
Question:
Cocussion?
A wooden pole fell on a friends head. She has a three inch long cut, but no swelling, could she have a concussion?
Answers:
Generally, a concussion isn't caused by something falling on ones head. A concussion is caused by inertia causing the brain to, in effect, slosh around in the skull, bouncing off of the side of the skull. This is seen in football injuries caused by slamming helmets together or hitting the ground. That isn't to say that there couldn't be a brain injury from getting hit on the head by a pole, it just wouldn't, specifically, be a concussion.
