Which sleep aide do u prefer?!

Question:

Which sleep aide do u prefer?

i have taken lunesta for about 3 months. i would fall asleep easily but wake up EVERY am around 2 or 3am. i would just toss and turn the rest of the am. my dr just switched me to ambien cr. i have been on it for a week. don't see much difference yet in fact the 1st night i was up by 3:30am and just had to get up. wild eyed!. do i need to give it more time? what do u think? any others out there?
by the way...i have been diagnosed w/ 2 sleep disorders so, i am taking the med in order to get ANY sleep. w/out med. i do NOT go to sleep! just was hoping to get a full 7-8 hours of normal sleep. a friend suggested that i take 1/2 a pill when i wake up early like that.....kinda afraid to do that. i have to get up and go to work.

Answers:

Try OTC product containing 25mg Doxylamine Succinate. This is considered to be a more effective sedative than phenobarbitol and many popular prescriptions, including Lunesta. It's also considered one of the safest sleep aids available. It's non-addictive, has MUCH fewer side effects and very little rebound insomnia if you stop taking it.

Doxylamine-based products are also pretty cheap. They typically come in blister packs containing 6,8,16 or 32 pills. Standard dosage for an adult is one 25mg pill taken just before bed, though since you have been taking a different sleep aid, you may want to try a higher dose. Just be safe about it.

I've taken this drug for well over a year to help sleep. I chose it after examining the side-effect profiles and addiction data from the ton of current prescription sleep aids that are being advertised on TV. For the price, safety, and ability to find them anywhere, choosing a doxylamine-based product was no contest.
