How do I convince my doctor to do this procedure?
My doctor was going to sever/ablate a nerve in my back for pain relief, but now he wants to implant a microchip there instead. I don't WANT a microchip there. Even my GP said they can come mislodged over time and stop working. I want the nerve severed so I can be done with it. I'm especially worried because my coverage ends soon and there isn't time to find a new doctor. How do I convince him to do the ablation of the nerve?

You are the 'customer'. Tell him you discussed this microchip option with your family physician and you both decided this is not a good option for you and you would rather have the other procedure. He can't force anything on you. He should just say okay and then schedule it.
