Hospital bill?!

Question:

Hospital bill?

I got admitted to the ER in the evening and was released at midnight. My charges are for the 5th and the 6th which puts me as an inpatient since it was regarded as overnight. Do hospitals bill just bill for the entire day regardless of when you are released? The doctor that discharged me is only billing me for the 5th so I am very confused and unsure what to do.

Answers:

just staying overnight doesn't count you as inpatient... you have to be at the hospital > 23 hours to be considered inpatient. So, you're bill is probably ER w/ an observation or recovery room. Call your insurance, they'll fix is.
