What do you think I can do to resolve my tip-toe problem?!

Question:

What do you think I can do to resolve my tip-toe problem?

I was born 5-months premature and I weighed only 1 pound and 6 ounces back then. So far, the only visible complications that I suffered from it was my "tip-toe" problem and this condition scientifically known as myopia (or near-sightedness). Recently, I started noticing that I've been tipping more in order to alleviate the amount of pressure I put on my feet. I tried walking flat normally during the day every now and then but the pain just kept increasing. Now, it's so unbearable that I can't walk at all without complaining about it or at least making it known by wincing or something similar to that.

It hurts a lot.

I'm just wondering now (since I'm fourteen years old and my fifteenth birthday is slowly approaching), is there any treatment for this condition? Can any doctor operate on it or something, I really need to know.

Thank you.

@mimirom: Actually my parents haven't taken me to a Podiatrist recently and I do tend to walk barefoot when I'm at home.

Answers:

First of all, congratulations on being a "miracle." I guess my answer will first be some questions. Do you always wear shoes? Have your parents taken you to a Podiatrist (foot doctor) for this problem?

It sounds like the muscles in your feet have tightened up so much that it hurts when you try to stretch them out. I'm not a Dr., but I do feel that it is urgent that you DO see a Dr. before you get any older. Hopefully, it can be treated with physical therapy and you may not have to have surgery... I wouldn't wait any longer to get it checked out though. The younger you are, the faster you heal. I would hope that there is a surgery to help you if all else fails....that has to be very painful and seems like it would also affect the muscles in your legs.

I hope you get help soon.
