Sprained toe.........help!!!?

Recently I took part in a soccer class and I accidently sprain my toe when I was kicking the football out of my opponent's way. Now my toe hurts and is red with the swelling, any suggestion to make my toe feel better?


Answers:

Elevate, apply ice, take some ibuprofen.

When you can, you can splint the toe to another healthy one using some tape. Some people recommend a spacer, like a tongue depressor, between them so it heals straight.

This will cover both sprain or fracture.

You can visit your doctor for x-rays if you like, but I have never done so. Failure to see a doctor could potentially result in reduced feeling or use of the injured toe. But who really cares, it's a toe.

Also, you might want to take some time to review proper kicking technique to avoid similar injuries in the future.
