Spreading nose sores?!

Question:

Spreading nose sores?

I was wondering if anyone can tell me what this may be. About a week ago i got a sore inside of the left nostril of my nose. Two days later another one but in the right side. Now they are spreading inside of my nose, and they hurt . This morning i woke up and they itch, but are sooooo sore. I have a doctors appt for friday but just wondering if anyone might know- before i go. Thanks for ANY help!

Answers:

Nasal sores are just pimples in the wrong spot, as a rule, and caused by the same bacteria usually. Staph lives all over the body on the surface of the skin, and the nose itself is loaded. If you recently had a cold or were blowing your nose for some reason, you may have irritated and broken the skin lining the nose. The bacteria got in, set up house and you have a spot. They tend to spread because they itch, and you will rub/scratch the spots before the pain gets your attention. That irritates the skin more, spreads the bacteria to a new spot, and you get a new sore. The doctor may give you something for the infection, but likely will simply say to keep your hands off and let your body handle things. It's irritating, but your body can do it, and in the meantime, just do what you can to keep your hands off the nose.
