Health Question? Doctors? Please?!
Question:
Health Question? Doctors? Please?
Every couple of months I get this severe pain in my abdomen. I am a 14 year old girl and it is just below my chest, it is a sharp pulsating pain that lasts anywhere between 10 minutes and 40. They hurt so bad that I cannot breathe and feel nauseous, it suddenly gets really hot (even in the wintertime) and I begin to sweat. My mom knows about it, but doesn't know what to do and when I asked my doctor about it she said it was gas, but it isn't because it is higher than that and hurts to intensely.
When I get them, I can't walk, can't move and just curl up on the floor and wait for it to pass. A few times I have thrown up but that may have been me getting sick, I'm not sure, I am normally one of the healthiest people I know and almost never get sick.
I am terrified that one day I will get these pains somewhere else than home and I don't know what I'd do, they hurt so bad, they are impossible to hide.
I would really appreciate any help or advice on what is causing this and how to help it.
Answers:
Licensed practical nurse here. This sounds like when I had gall bladder problems. They usually do not check that in young people, but it is becoming more and more common, so insist that they check it . It really is the worst abdominal pain. It was as bad as labor for me.
