Other countries have free healthcare, some pay very little for medication. In other countries it may cost 5.00 to get a prescription. In our country (America) the same said medication could cost up to a hundred dollars possibly more. In most countries health care is government owned and dispenced...
People die every day in this country because insurance company's drop you for being obese, etc...
Whats your opinion on this country's poor healthcare system, and what are some ways to change said care.

It's really kind of odd. Americans seem to value plastic surgery the most. The impoverished do without any sort of health care at all.
Recently, I asked that if American Taxpayers had a universal health care system, if they would be more open to gun control? You know, registering legal arms, getting gang violence and drive by shootings down, even domestic incidents. The replies were so harsh, I deleted the question. One guy even called me a Nazi.
And every single reply said the topics were "completely unrelated". And that universal health care was impossible.
Raising taxes on cigarettes and alcohol would be one was to fund it, but no one wants to hear that. But it would be most effective. Kinda ironic that these items burden the health care system the most.
If every doctor could set aside one day out of a week of private practise, where they could work for wages paid by the state, it would help so much. Getting health care to those living below the poverty line would make them more productive in society and the American economy more successful.
It is tragic that so many are unwilling to contribute to the health of their fellow Americans.
