Should scoliosis have me in this much pain?!

Question: Should scoliosis have me in this much pain?
Okay here goes. I'm 21 in five days and I found out, summer of last year, that I have scoliosis. Some days my back pain is so intense that I have to force myself out of bed and I've been looking for a job but when I think of how much pain I'm always in; I'm afraid the pain will mess with my job and what all I can do. So my question is actually, Does scoliosis really cause this much pain or do you think there's something deeper or more that's causing it? My doctor basically said "it's only scoliosis" (in those words) and sent me on my way without an explanation. She gave me to a physical therapist that made it worse. I'm in pain daily and I need help!

Answers:

You need to see a chiropractor who understands what causes scoliosis. You can't just go to anyone though. You have to have a consultation with one who can make you feel confident in his ability to correct it. Having said that, there are types of scoliosis that cannot be corrected and he has to know the difference. If he does, he will be able to examine you and tell you whether or not he can help. If it cannot be corrected, adjustments should at least manage the pain.

Scoliosis is not a mystery. There is a definite cause that is NOT muscular. Anyone that can help you will know this and will tell you the same thing.

You have to find a chiro that uses his hands to adjust you and who doesn't have a clinic full of machines and therapy equipment. These things will not work.

I have worked with enough cases like yours to know there is a good chance you can be helped.
