My ears wont unpop after flying.?!

My ears wont unpop after flying.?

I flew today, and my left ear popped and it will not unpop. I can still hear out of it, but it's just muffled.

I tried the usual opening and closing my mouth, swallowing, but it wont work. Sometimes when I do it, it makes this "whishing" noise like wind.

There is no pain. It's just extremely annoying more than anything.

Is this something that will go away or should I call an ear doctor?

Make sure that you continue to chew gum and try not to think about it. Sometimes when I focus on my ears popping too much, it seems to take even longer. The only time I actually had to go to an ear doctor for my ears not popping was when I flew home from Italy. I was sick for the latter part of my trip- a cold. After the flight my ears were clogged for about a week. I went to an ear doctor and they tried a couple of things that were unsuccessful. A few days later I had to have my ears popped by the doctor. Nothing major- just a little uncomfortable. I'm sure your ears will pop in no time!
