Sore spot in nose?!
Question:
Sore spot in nose?
Can someone explain this and i do not pick my nose.
Answers:
Irritation of the nasal lining can be caused by a variety of things: infections, allergies, cold or dry air, rubbing the outside of your nose, air pollutants, recent colds or bloody noses, blowing your nose too hard, pressure from your pillow when you sleep, snorting drugs, and yes, picking your nose.
The most common cause is dry air, or damage from blowing your nose too hard, and this generally heals within 1-2 days tops, unless the aggravating factor persists (like dry air). You can try a mild saline spray (available at any pharmacy) to clean and hydrate your nose, or use a humidifier in your house and see if that helps any. If the soreness doesn't go away, gets worse, or is also accompanied by a discharge of blood, pus or yellow/green/brown mucus, you really should have a doctor check it out, as that could indicate something more serious, like some kind of damage or a nasal infection.
