wounds after gallbladder removal?!

Question: Wounds after gallbladder removal?
Im getting my gallbladder removed soon by keyhole surgery and im just wanting to no how bad my wounds will be and how many im likely to have

Answers:

The keyhole method of surgery (or laproscopic method) is minimally invasive and is the most common and easiest way to remove the gallbladder. Usually, 3 or 4 tiny incisions are made in the abdomen, and the surgeon will insert a tiny device into one of the holes that basically sucks the gallbladder out. It's a fairly simple and routine surgery, and as long as there are no major complications, you should be able to return home the same day of the procedure. Recovery time is also much much faster for the keyhole method than it is for the traditional method. The scars will be so tiny you'll barely even notice them. You'll just have to take it easy for a week or two and make sure you follow your doctor's instructions, and you should heal up just fine!

Best of luck, hope everything goes well!

Hi, I had mine out last year by keyhole surgery. I was left with 4 tiny scars; one just above my belly button, one to the left of this and there are two at the top of my stomach. At first they were really red but they can hardly be seen now (I really have to look for 2 of them!) but the one above my tummy button is a bit more visable but that's because I put on loads of weight.

Had my gallbladder removed last year.
