Do I have a concussion? What should I do?!

Question: Do I have a concussion? What should I do?
At cheerleading I fell from a stunt and hit my head on a concrete wall. I had a minor blackout 5sec, and have not been left with any headache. However, it is very sore and I am very paranoid. My mom keeps telling me it isn't worth seeing a doctor cause they will just tell me to ice it. Any ideas?

Answers:

Black outs are caused from intense pain.

Concussions can be caused by blunt head trauma.

Any time you hit your head it may be a concussion but a concussion is usually accompanied by bleeding and/or swelling.

as long as your vision is not blurred, you remain coordinated (don't loose your balance) pupils are not dilated, and you retain the ability to grip items in the palm of your hand you should be OK.

I have had experience with hitting my head.

You're probably fine but read this just in case:

I think it's better to be safe than sorry and see a doctor. Especially if you blacked out like you said.
