My 3 1/2 year old fractured his femur, in spica cast now, should we get second opinion?

We saw the xray after 1 week of healing and the femur is broken long ways and is still far apart- seperated and the Dr said it looked good!! People claim he's a good Orthodedic but we are new to area- should we see a Pediatric Orthopedic surgeon? Does it make a difference?

If your insurance can handle it of if you want to pay out of pocket you can get a second opinion. This is your child. Many parents get a second opinion just for their state of mind. Femurs take time but heal faster in little ones. If you are going to get the second opinion get it fast. If you get two oposing opinions then you will need to get a third or go with you gut (which upsets most parents guts).
