Why doesn't my ankle bend as far anymore?!
Question:
Why doesn't my ankle bend as far anymore?
I have twisted, or dislocated or just stretched my anckle about 1.5 months ago, while running. At first, it hurt, but I figured that I can make it another mile home, or I would be late to class. I made it ok, it hurt a lot though. It hurt real bad the whole day, but mostly when I tried twisting it in a sideward direction. In the evening I put an elastic band on snug and rested my leg. Then I wore the band for two days. Then it got better, but I could still her it hurt when I flex it, or swivel my foot to the side.
Over the month the pain has calmed down, but not I think it is kind of back, not as bad, but still hurts, when I move my foot to the side, but it's not unbearable pain.
When I try staning on the other sides of my feet, I notice that the foot that was damaged, does not bend as far as the normal one dows. Like there is no possible way I can morve it that far, even manually.
What happened?
Answers:
Maybe you pulled or tweaked a ligament or tendon, and it didn't heal right and may now be limiting your range of motion.
I would recommend a visit to the doctor. An X-ray will tell exactly what is going on inside your ankle.
