I have pain in the back of my heel. Does anyone know what could be causing it?
The pain is on the back of my right heel. When it bothers me my heel on the back feels bruised. It also looks like there could be some inflamation there. I hurt my achilles tendon hiking about 9 months ago and felt like it healed but just recently it started bothering me again. I am just wondering if it could be because of the earlier injury or something different.

This could be from your other injury or a heel Spur. You need to see a Podiatrist as soon as possible and get a full Examination. For the time being you could put an ice pack on the area pain for fifteen minutes several times a day. Advil soft gel capsules are very helpful for pain. Take them four times daily.
