Has anyone out there had an Ankle Fusion?
I had a terrible fall from about 25 feet. Shattered my ankles, including my talus (foot) and destroyed the cartilidge. Doctors removed the damaged cartlidge and screwed the ankle back together but its been 6 months and its not healing to well. The Doctor now wants to remove the joint with an ankle fusion. I was wondering if theres anyone who has had this ankle fusion surgery and if so how is it to walk now? If you have i would like to ask more questions via email if possible. Thanks!

Your best bet is to join the anklefusion group at this address: http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/ank... I have applied to join to-day because I have so much pain from a sub-talar break 7 years ago. I don't have any cartilage left either in my right talus.
I found out about the group by typing in "I broke my talus bone" in Google.
