My fiance has had a horrible headache for 6 days now, accompanied by vomiting, s!

Question: My fiance has had a horrible headache for 6 days now, accompanied by vomiting, sensitivity to light, fatigue..?
we went to the ER last night and they did a CT scan and a spinal tap, both came back negative. So he said that the only thing left to do was to call a neurologist if the headaches persists. To the best of my knowledge he does not have a history of headaches. He said he has had them but never this bad. So we got back from the ER at 5:30, he woke up at 9 and his head hurt again. I got his script filled and now he is sleeping, but I am so scared. Could this be a migraine or something worse considering he has never had a migraine before. Oh and he is 25 years old. Thanks.

Answers:

It's a migraine.
Try ice on the back of the neck (15 minutes on, 15 off) ice will shrink the nerve....and try excedrin migraine if the prescription doesn't work. My mom's migraines are so bad, she needs a very strong medication also.
Migraines can show up at any time in life, they started affecting me at age 16 & my mom, a few years ago. And she is 38 years old.

Also, tell him to stay away from cheese, chocolate, & peanut butter & tree nuts as they are things that trigger migraines.

If any of this doesn't help definitely see a neurologist.

Mom & I both have migraines.

Defiantly a migrain! Do as the lady says in first comment. Hope he feels better.
