What is the pain like when you get shot (around the hip) if possible :-)?

I know it might sound weird but I have to play a young boy who gets shot and I'm wondering what the pain is like?

it varies based on where the gun shot actually is whether it was a grazing shot or deep hitting the bone. The bigger variable is what type of gun was used to shoot the person. A small caliber round like a 22 might vary from a bad bee sting if it simply passed through to mega pain if it hit your leg bone. If you want to make it more complicated it also depends on the velocity of the bullet when it strikes your leg. A very fast round is more likely to pass through you and you might not even realize you've been hit until you see the blood. There was a case of a boy hit in the back with a 22 that didn't really feel much pain, he thought a bee had stung him laid down in his bed and bled to death from internal bleeding. Very little blood on the bed too as the bullet made such a small entry wound that not much leaked.

So feel free to play it anyway you want to, how people react to being shot varies. The only thing that only happens in movies is for the person to fly across the room when hit, it just looks good on film but never happens in realife even if your hit by a shotgun blast.
