Numbness in my right middle finger?!

Question:

Numbness in my right middle finger?

i noticed today that i am having numbness and slight tingling in my right middle finger tip. no pain, no swelling. the other day i was stretching out my hand i had a strange sensation from my elbow up to my right ring and pinky finger. it was gone within a couple minutes. this numbness, tho, has lasted all day. i'm thinking it may be starting in my right pointer finger, but only half of it.
i know that i could be a pinched nerve or maybe the start of carpule tunnel. i'm wondering if anyone has had this happen and then had a diagnosis?

Answers:

The sensation from your elbow to the pinky/ring finger is from irritation of the ulnar nerve as it passes through your elbow. The numbness in the middle finger is from impingement of your C7 nerve root in your neck. The middle finger could be carpal tunnel but the other sensation is not carpal tunnel b/c that involves entrapment of the median nerve which doesnt supply the ring or pinky finger.
