C5-T1 are fussed and supported with hardware. The pain meds arn't working and i dont want any stronger ones. I already take 120 a month Loritab 10/500,soma 350mg and2mg xznax

My wife is fused from L3-S1 with a broken hip and herniation in L2-L3. Was just recently on 120mg Oxycontin 3/day, 10mg of Valium 3/day, and 4mg Dilaudid 3/day. So I know what you are going through. And believe me, I know how awful the pain meds are! If possible, stay away from Soma and Oxy, they are so highly addictive. Have you looked into getting a spinal cord stimulator? My wife as of last week just got one put in and it seems very promising, from Advanced Bionics. Reducing her daily pain levels from a 7-8 or more to a 3-4 and hopefully lower. The only other option I know of is putting in a morphine pump which I've heard really good things from people I've visited with in waiting rooms. Another thing that might help is checking out acupuncture. I've heard good things about that as well. I don't know if meditation, relaxation techniques, stretching etc will help.
