Answers:

I don't know how old your grandmom is, but I have a feeling that the condition isn't serious I used to work for an ophthalmologist and he saw quite a few people with this condition. Most of them weren't aware of their eye looking like that until someone would point it out. I think it was called a subconjunctival hemhorrage and essentially it was just a broken blood vessel. I don't recall there being any "cure" except for time...it takes a few days for it to clear up. And, if I recall correctly, the doctor said there was nothing to worry about unless you found that you were getting them all the time. I agree, though, they look just awful. I think they just "happen" and quite suddenly. I don't recall taking a wrong medicine ever being the cause. I'm just giving you my opinion. I'm certainly not a doctor. But, until you hear from one I thought you might feel a little easier knowing that this isn't that rare an occurrence.
