Where can I research to find an amount for a personal injury?
I fell in a hole in another city and broke my ankle in 3 different places. I have had two surgeries and is going through alot of pain and suffering. My lawyer asked ME what would be a fair amount? What is my disfigured ankle worth?

My son is in the process of filing a personal injury suit. Our lawyer brought over a bunch of papers with other peoples settlements. All the cases were pretty close to my sons. Example: time off work, number of surgeries, time it took to recover. Although every case is different, the judge looks at other cases similar, and thats how he comes to a decision.
It's like selling your house. The realtor sees what other houses in your area have sold for, and thats what they base there price on.
If I were you I'd make the lawyer do his job. It's not up to you to know how much to ask. If he's a personal injury lawyer he should have a very good idea on what you should settle for
