I was drilling a hole and the drill slipped off and went sideways through my thumb. It went in one side out?

the other side. I went to the to doc and he put 4 stitches to close it up. Does anyone know if this will heal right? Also there is lots of pain in my thumb still and it happened over 24 hours ago (Friday, 6/7 am). I have been taking Aleve but nothing is happening. The pain goes in streaks. First it hurts then its fine for a couple of minutes. Just curious what you guys think about it.

it will be sore for a while... i had my fingers ice skated over when i was a pre teen and it throbbed for some time.
If I were you, I would take Tylenol though for a few days cause aleve and stuff can make you bruise and bleed more.
If it really hurts alot ask your doc for a few Darvocet N-100 or some low mg vicodin just to get your through the night or when youre resting at home. Once your stitches come out your thumb area might be a littl e numb.. you can start using a little vitamin E oil on the scar about six months post suture removal.. Glad youre ok!
