Answers:

Norco is a mixture of acetaminophen and hydrocodone which is prescribed for moderate to severe pain. Out of all similar medications available on the US market such as Lorcet, Vicodin, Lortab and others Norco contains the least amount of acetaminophen (= Tylenol). Because Norco is mixed with only 325mg acetaminophen it is often the preferred medication for people who take a large amount of tablets over longer periods of time. If you experience severe pain it is possible that your doctor prescribes 1 tablet every 4 hours meaning you consume 5 tablets daily. Since 5 tablets of Norco contain only 1625mg acetaminophen you will stay below the maximum recommended amount of acetaminophen which is no more then 2000mg/day. For short term use this is 4000mg/day.
