What was the closest You have ever been to your own death?
Was it an illness,injury,or just a good butt kicking?

Answers:
I HAVE died. That's about as close as you can get - death itself. I was in surgery and died on the operating table. I was dead for several minutes. They revived me on the operating table.
Near death stuff:
(1) Wacked in the head by tire rim thrown by someone - almost lost my eye
(2) Food poisoning - nearly died from both it and the fever my body broke out in while trying to combat the infection
(3) Hernia
(4) hmmm, cant put this one here - they would remove my answer - suffice it to say, it was real painful and I had to have surgery to fix it
(5) Idiot friend was playing with an "unloaded" gun pointing it at me - luckily he pulled the trigger while aiming at the ceiling and left a .45 slug in my ceiling and not in my or his head - what a jerk!
(6) Nearly run over by a speeding car in a parking lot
(7) Rear ended by a MAC truck with no brakes - my car stopped the dang thing before it hit a schoolbus full of kids - and I escaped with nothing more than a minor fracture in my neck (which still bothers me on super rainy days) and a minor ding in the bumper of my car (it fell apart about 2 weeks later)
