Painful /tender small bump deep inside waist?!

Question: Painful /tender small bump deep inside waist?
So I've had this painful/tender small bump deep inside my waist( more toward my back) for a few years. It hasn't gotten bigger or anything but when you push on it or rub it its tender. Its deep so you can't see anything just by looking. What could it be?

It's probably a lipoma, which is a benign fatty deposit. They tend to grow and shrink and they can be quite painful if they press up against nerves... they can also go unnoticed if they don't. You should get it removed. I get them all over.

That is a ganglion cyst. Nothing dangerous. It is a little sac with fluid from the wrist joint. It is usually close to the surface and can be broken. It was called a bible thumpers cyst in olden days because it was often broken by a hard whack with a heavy book. The most common heavy book in most homes was the bible.

If you visit a doctor he may be able to drain the fluid off with a needle
