Question: Getting up in the morning?
i always have trouble getting up early in the morning for school. i cant get myself up on my own and it takes my parents like 2 minutes to get me up even though i go to bed at a decent time. its been like this ever since i can remember and im afraid it might become a problem in the future when im on my own and need to get up for work or something. does anyone have any solutions to this problem? i try going to bed early and it doesnt help. im still tired in the morning

First off, make sure you go to bed and wake up around the same times every day, so your body gets used to your own set sleeping schedule. Before you go to bed, set multiple loud alarms, each with different sounds/tones that are very obnoxious and can annoy you otherwise. Set one about 10 minutes before you usually wake up, and set a second one 5 minutes before you get up. You should wake up at one of them, and then fall back asleep for the remaining 5 minutes. What's crazy is that this 5 minutes of sleep usually feels so much better than the hours of sleep I just had before the alarms. This is what really helps me "wake up" and get over being tired.

After you have those 2 set, now set your next alarm at the time you actually wake up. And then set a few more within at least thirty seconds to a minute of each other after your normal wake-up alarm, so that they will go off one after the other, and slowly knock you out of your sleep, waking you slowly with each new alarm. Confused yet? Ha, it really works though. I've used this method to get me through three years of 5:50am cross country practice while living off 4 or less hours of sleep. To wake up then and run 3-5 miles in the cold in nothing but little running shorts and a tshirt? If you want to try that a couple mornings, I'm sure you'd get into a routine real quick! :]

But if you want to take it a step further than the army of alarms, get a spray bottle of ice cold water before you go to bed, and spray it/pour it over you as soon as you awake to really wake you up. Or find an alarm that can do this for you... Or take a cold shower. And make sure you eat a healthy energy-boosting breakfast. That's the meal that gets you going for the day. At least try this method for a while until you can get yourself used to waking up. You can train your brain to do this. Best of luck! :]

only 2 minutes? it take my mom like half an hour to get me out of bed. lol try going to bed at an early time every night at the same time and set multiple alarms. and put one on the other side of the room so you have to get up to turn it off.

When you have a list of 20 bills that you have to pay on your own and you know that you'll get fired if you're late to work, then you'll get up in the morning.

sounds like me. I set my alarm to go off half an hour early that way i get two snooze sequences and am able to get up and go to work on time.
