Can hardly hear ??? Help please !!!?
Since Thursday I have suffered with a very bad cold and had minor ear ache in my right ear, on Sunday i managed to get to a out of hour surgery, and they gave me penicillin and ibuprofen saying I had a fever and my right ear was slightly pink. That night I couldn't sleep till 4 AM as my nose was so blocked I was kept up blowing my nose a lot trying Vic's, breathing in hot steam and nothing worked for that long, in the morning my throat was very sore. I then got from the chemist some nasal spray for sinus and a nasal stick for sinus as i figured this was why my ear was hurting. It was then improving in my ear, up until Tuesday night the sleep was okay compared to the previous nights , when I woke up Wednesday i had very muffled hearing in the right ear and quite a lot of pain. I then went to the doctors and they said my throat had cleared up, and my sinus were blocked and it had affected my right ear, ( he was not very clear in what i needed to do and how long i would have this muffled hearing ) He gave me more ibuprofen and some Amoxicillin. I took one spoonful last night and one spoonful today, I am now wondering how long will i have this very blocked nose and muffled hearing ?? As it is now slightly muffling in the other ear and becoming worse.Thank you for your help it appreciated. Best answer will be picked immediately immediately question is fully answered to me.

The doctor should have given you a stronger anti inflammatory steroid to reduce the swelling within your head and sinuses right now, it speeds up recovery and allows fluid to drain. They should of know this, but take extra strength Ibuprofen and if you need to go back today (thursday) and ask for a anti inflammatory steroid. It should start working really fast. Ask for prednisone. It reduces the swelling fast. Hot showers, tea, and other hot things should help drain some fluids. Drink a lot of water, take vitamin c, try not to blow your nose, it will lead to headache which is the last thing you want. As much as you may think it will help don't shove qtips up your ear, they actually just clog it worse. You can also ask the doctor something to help with the headaches cause tylenol/ other over the counter stuff isn't helping and you just want to get some sleep. Feel better

U r sick and u have fluid in u ears. One the congestion starts to fade the ears willbdrain and u be fine.
