Answers:

I had mine pierced with a gun 5 years ago and never had any problems. I do know from my experience from ear piercing that if it is sinking into the skin that it is infected and needs to be removed immediately before the skin grows over it and then it will have to be surgically removed. You could try to have someone take it out for you just make sure that their hands are very clean. If you do get it out and want to put something else in make sure that you put in a nose screw and not the ones with the ball on the end. I know many people who have used the ones with the ball on the end and have had their skin grow over them and had to have them removed. And make sure you soak the nose screw in rubbing alcohol before you put it in and that the screw is hypoalergenic.
