What is good for leg cramp tried tonic water but to no avail?!

Question:

What is good for leg cramp tried tonic water but to no avail?

Answers:

There can be a number of reasons for getting leg cramps, but the usualy reason is either due to circulation problems or an imbalance in minerals in the body - usually calcium and /or magnesium.

Tonic water often helps, but if not, then try the following:

- stretching exercises
- drink plenty of water
- good doses of vitamin C (unless there is a medical reason why you cannot take these)
- herbs to improve the circulation include Ginkgo, and you can also try adding ginger to your food and spices such as Peppers and chilles (if you like them!)
- Calcium / Magnesium supplements.

If these don't work, then there may be another reason for the cramps, and an experienced herbalist or nutritionist may be able to help.
