There is no way your doctor or dentist could tell if you've been chewing only a week and a half. AND if he DID learn you've been chewing, he would not be able to tell your parents, so don't worry about a thing.

Doctors (and nurses) are bound by certain ethics. To be able to help their patients, confidentiality is important. HE / SHE needs to be able to ask you anything and understand FULLY what is going on. Keeping secrets from him / her will only make it harder to give you safe and proper health care.

Be honest with your doctor, tell him / her everything. Even IF he can't tell, tell him you've been chewing.

Since I'm a nurse, I should mention the potential for oral cancer is very big. Your mouth can rot off your head. Then your friends wouldn't think you are so cool. Is that what you want?

Please; stop. Before it's too late.

You bet you doctor can tell. So can your dentist when you go for a check-up. But don't skip going; dentists are the most likely medical professionals to spot oral cancers before they metastasize and spread into the lymph nodes in your neck. You'll need to go to the dentist about every three months to handle the damage from the chew itself, and to catch the cancer before it takes your jaw and forces the surgeon to dissect your neck.

Used to work for a dentist.

If you have only been doing this for a short time, that's probably why you have a sore throat. Not every sore throat is strep throat.
The only reason you would care if he knew is you're either ashamed or embarrassed. Think about that.

Your mouth probably has got a bad smell and probably your teeth are yellow,( u should quit anyway),so yes he/she can understand whether u chewed tobacco, or not, in my opinion u should tell him/her u were with some friends and only had a try. Good luck and quit !
