my jaw and head hurts?? What should i do?!
Question: My jaw and head hurts?? What should i do?
Answers:
Ok, I just found out that I have TMJ, I'm not getting headaches, However one of the joints of my Jaw is swollen and throbbing and every time I swallow or chew the swelling from that joint is pulling and causing pain in my ear. I went to the Doc and here is what they told me.
Just like with any form of arthritis swelling causes the pain. So to prevent swelling you should do the following, drink lots of water..( I know, how does that make sense) but it works, Our bodies retain water when we don't drink enough of it, but when we do drink plenty our bodies actually release more water, and take an anti-inflammatory such as Ibuprofen. so I did what they said, I drank a big glass of water and took two advil and sure enough my pain stopped.
I do have to repeat the process everytime I have a flare up, and even sometimes several times a day. So that is a draw back. But, it beats living in pain anyday.
I hate that I have it to and the same things been happening to me my jaws has been locked for about almost a month now and it gives me ear aches i read a medical book and i said no caffeine no gum etc any thing that really chewy and hard take an ibuprofen to help with the inflammation and such also stay off the computer it irritates it
