Have a broken fibula, five weeks now. No healing as of yet, possibly facing surgery.?

For the past two days, I have had a lot of pain and this morning, my leg is really swollen in my cast. I have an appt. Monday with the ortho.. any ideas?

Also lots of people have had surgery with plates & screws on the fibula..While it only supports about 10% of the weight, it still needs to be fixed. 5 weeks is probably too soon to see much healing anyways. Maybe your Dr will wait abit longer & see if things turn around.
