Could it be a torn acl or something else?!
Question: Could it be a torn acl or something else?
So i was playing bball and i jumped up and landed in a weird way which cause my knee to crumble under me
When it happened it hurt but then when i sat there for a while it didnt
But after i got up and applied pressure to my leg my knee just gave out and i fell
Whenever i put pressure on my leg its searing pain
I went to the hospital and they gave an immobilizer because i have a sprain knee, and torn ligaments, but the xray doesnt show everything
He told me to go to an orthodoc within 4-5
Its only been two days and my knee is a size of a Baseball and it is black and blue
Whenever i dont have the immobilizer on and im using just on crutches my leg is left hanging and it just twists side ways which hurts
Is it a torn acl?
Or something else

you most likely tore something. i dont have enough info to tell what you may have torn. if you tore your MCL or PCL or LCL you usually do not need surgery but just a big brace and crutches. If it is a torn acl you will most likely need surgery. the surgery is about an hour and it is not to bad after about a week you feel much better. it just takes a long time for rehab and getting back into sports.
Looks like torn cartilage kid! Lots of mris and surgeries to come!
