Sleep,SLEEEP,SLEEEEEP!!!?

I've been having sleeping problems for a while. I cant get to sleep. i've gone actually a week without sleeping. I took ambian but i dont want to rely on pills. do you guys know any tricks that work? or maybe a book that has worked. I'm getting desprate! I excersize every day, take a bath, drink tea, and i'm still up all night. this month hassent been so bad, i go to sleep at 6 but i really need to go to sleep early. any advice would truly be helpful.

I used to have the same problem. First if their is anything in your life that is stressful try to be rational about it and as it gets closer to the time for you to lay down don't think about it at all. Now try to take a warm or hot shower and make sure your room is a little cooler than standard room temperature. Cool air always makes me yawn. Now if reading a book doesn't help I find that James Blunts' c.d. relaxes me and helps me fall asleep. Also right before you go to bed try and close your eyes and picture yourself living the life that you want. Even if it's as unacheivable as being married to a famous celebrity. Just picture how things would be if you were together and how your life would be. Eventually after about 20 minutes of fantasizing if it even takes that long you should be able to sleep. Also don't think about all the things that you have to do. Just think about relaxing and feeling good.
